Let's Talk About Non Binary

Let's Talk About Non Binary is a collective for non-binary, gender fluid and genderqueer people, offering meeting spaces in Brussels, Wallonia as well as online. In response to a lack of visibility and representation of non-binary people, this association proposes to participate in discussion groups where experiences and resources are exchanged, and where hang-outs and events can be organized. LTNB thus proposes a platform for meeting, sharing and reflecting on gender issues, aiming at more inclusiveness and understanding of non-binary identities in our society and our daily life, but also a social group to hang out together and have fun.

Who's involved in it ?

Non-binary people from all over Belgium, but mostly Brussels and Liège. About 130 members on Discord. About 25 people actively participating regularly to meet-ups and other activities.

What’s your origin story and your motivation?

Early 2021, RainbowHouse and Genres Pluriels organized a one-shot on-line event: "we need to talk about non-binary". Participants took it from there and created the Discord server « non-binary haus ». We organized on-line meeting in the following months. In October 2021, we had the first physical monthly meet-up in Brussels. In March 2022, we launched our Instagram account (>760 followers today). We hold 1 or 2 meet-ups a month, in Brussels and Liège.

Do you want to share a special memory with us?

Our participation to the Belgium Pride in May 2022 was a first high point, as was our intervention at the end of the Trans-Inter march in Brussels in October 2022.

What are some of your favorite spots in Brussels?

The Agenda, Cabaret Mademoiselle, Mothers & Daughters, Boxon alternée (Brussels Art Pole)

Where can we find you virtually and/or physically?

Our public face is Instagram, for our members, we have a Discord server and we meet 1-2 a month. In Brussels, normally at the Rainbowhouse (salle Marsha P. Johnson), in Liège at the Maison Arc-en-Ciel.
