DEMIMMONDE is a platform exploring dirty matters in architecture and beyond. It addresses inconvenient topics related to the built environment from the perspective of the demi-monde, a term used in the nineteenth century to designate artists, women and other characters on the fringes of respectable society.
Thirteen more people /collectives were involved in the first event (and the only one so far lol): Luz de Amor, Alberto García del Castillo, Serge Goldwicht, Melissa Juice, MISSFITTE, Roxanne Maillet, Stef Meul, Ingo Niermann, Daniela Nocentini, Donna Pavona, TOMBOYS DON’T CRY, VenidaDevenida, Serena Vittorini.
I had been interested in the relationship between architecture and sexuality for a while, and I was very excited when I finally had the chance to develop a project on the topic during a residency at Hectolitre in Brussels in February 2019. The residency space has access to the former swingers club La Porte desSens - a space of sexual and social transgression, and a metaphor for promiscuous interdisciplinary couplings - which I thought was the ideal setting for a night of performance, video and music.

It's been 2 years that DEMIMMONDE is out of office, but it will make a comeback - eventually.
